Dr Yücel Meheroğlu is a historian whose scholarly work focuses on the relationship between racism, the state, and security. Using the Roma in the Ottoman Empire and Turkey as a case study, she examines processes of racialisation and securitisation and asks how minorities are constructed as security problems.
