On 25 or 26 May, 507 Sinti and Roma men and 528 Sinti and Roma women from Camp Section BIIe are selected at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp (German-annexed Poland) and murdered in the gas chambers. The victims are predominantly Polish Roma who were brought in from Bialystok (German-occupied Poland) on 12 May, and 76 Roma from Austria.
