Anton Reinhardt (1927–1945) after his escape to Switzerland in 1944. The young Sinto fled to Switzerland in August 1944 to escape the threat of forced sterilisation. However, he was refused asylum there. The Swiss authorities deported him back and he was imprisoned in the Schirmeck-Vorbruck security camp. From there, he was transferred to the Rotenfels security camp and finally to Sulz, a satellite camp of the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp. He managed to escape but was captured. On 31 March 1945, Easter Saturday, he was shot by an SS-Hauptsturmführer after writing a farewell letter to his parents.
The photograph comes from the file that was opened on him in Switzerland.
