12 September 1943

On 12 or 13 September, 1,715 Roma are murdered in the gas chambers at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp (German-annexed Poland). They are Polish Roma who had been deported from Bialystok (German-occupied Poland) and were presumably admitted to quarantine in Camp Section BIIb at the end of May or in June 1943 without prior registration.
