Shooting of Roma in the General Government, most likely by members of the Schutzstaffel (SS) and the Ordnungspolizei, around 1942/43. The location of this shooting, the names of the victims, the identity of the woman in the centre of the picture and the names of the perpetrators are not known. After the invasion of Poland by Germany, parts of the territory were annexed by Germany and the Soviet Union, and the largest part was placed under German occupation as the General Government. According to the findings of Polish historian Pjotr Kascyca and additional research, there was evidence that Roma were shot at around 180 locations between 1939 and 1944. The number of victims is estimated to be at least 4,500.
