The German Sinto Ernst Mettbach (1920–1972) as a witness at the Nuremberg doctor’s trial. His testimony took place on 21 June 1947 in Nuremberg, American-occupied zone of Germany. Among other things, the so-called seawater experiments in Dachau concentration camp were negotiated. The defendant Wilhelm Beiglböck (1905–1963) carried out the experiments in 1944 on 40 Sinti and Roma who had been specially transferred from Buchenwald concentration camp to Dachau. In addition to Mettbach, the survivor Karl Höllenreiner (1914–1984) also testified.

Beiglböck was sentenced in the second instance to ten years imprisonment. He was released in 1951 and practised as a doctor in Buxtehude until his death in 1963.
